Know what I miss? DOS. Yes..DOS. Mainly because it could reboot with in 7 seconds, and you could play “Extreme Pinball” on it. I still have my Extreme Pinball CD, but nothing to play it on. Never made a windows version. It was the coolest pinball simulation ever. It’s still one of the coolest videogames made. Described as “playing with your face pressed against the glass,” it was just as exciting as a modern FPS. And its just a pinball game!
One of my DOS floppies got a CRC error in the 90’s, so no more DOS for me. And, I don’t feel like dumping a perfectly good XP install on any of my family’s computers just to play pinball anyway. Has anyone tried to use Microsoft Virtual PC or VM Ware for games? Too much for processors to handle? DOS too picky? Driver Issues? Any experiences would help.
